Job Description

  • Achieve volume and value objectives for the assigned territory within budget, time, and policy.
  • Efficiently control the sales network under your charge.
  • Execute strategic alliances with key outlets.
  • Implement and follow up on monthly activities and promotions specific to each outlet and chain.
  • Liaise with the Merchandising team for in-store branding activities.
  • Operate all marketing and sales schemes and promotions as per prior approvals and monthly review meetings.
  • Control dominant shelf space in key accounts.
  • Manage the health of the distributor channel on a monthly basis.
  • Assist the Area Sales Manager with brand- and SKU-wise sales forecasting based on market potential.
  • Train and develop the distributor sales team, providing timely feedback through market visits and monthly review meetings.

Financial Responsibilities

  • Document outlet expenses (damages, trade schemes, promotional expenses, visibility expenses) monthly for audit purposes.
  • Settle distributor and outlet claims within the stipulated timeframe.
  • Submit No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from distributors quarterly and from Traditional Trade stores annually.
  • Track the efficiency of all investments and promotions in all outlets.

Distributor Responsibilities

  • Appoint and make all planned distributors operational in the zone.
  • Evaluate distributor performance.
  • Destroy damaged/expired goods at distributor premises with prior approval and in your physical presence.
  • Manage the health of the distributor channel on a monthly basis by:
  • Monitoring the speed of claim settlement.
  • Tracking damages as a percentage of sales.
  • Maintaining sales and stock registers.
  • Generating primary orders to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Generating weekly indents to maintain a healthy sales skew for the month.
  • Maintaining distributor MIS according to company norms.
  • Ensure optimal distribution cost by reviewing routing and scheduling quarterly.
  • Monitor inventory control to ensure stock is readily available as per market demand and implement effective logistic strategies.
  • Appoint DSRs and sales staff by identifying gaps to optimize width and depth of distribution.

Outlet Responsibilities

  • Ensure gold-standard merchandising (display/visibility) by executing the set planogram.
  • Maintain a database of all Traditional Trade outlets, including administrative, commercial, and business details.
  • Plan a regular monthly journey plan for regional Traditional Trade personnel with the ASM.
  • Maintain company assets in Traditional Trade outlets.
  • Ensure timely implementation of visibility, promotional schemes, and display of POP material, banners, and billboards.
  • Plan and implement promotional campaigns that suit local customer segments and utilize promotional budgets for the territory.
