Role & responsibilities

Procurement Planning & Execution

• Develop and implement procurement plans based on project timelines and budget.
  
• Manage end-to-end purchasing of solar components: PV modules, inverters, mounting structures, cables, BoS, etc.
  
• Evaluate and approve suppliers based on quality, price, delivery timelines, and compliance.
  

Vendor Management

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors (local and international).
  
• Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts to ensure cost-effective procurement.
  
• Maintain long-term supplier relationships and ensure performance through regular reviews.
  

Purchase Order Management

• Create, issue, and track purchase orders (POs) using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally).
  
• Monitor PO execution to ensure timely material delivery as per project schedules.
  
• Resolve discrepancies in deliveries, invoices, or order fulfillment.
  

Cost Control & Budgeting

• Analyze pricing trends, forecast costs, and ensure procurement within allocated budgets.
  
• Implement strategies for cost savings without compromising quality and timelines.
  
• Track and report procurement KPIs regularly to senior management.
  

Inventory & Logistics Coordination

• Collaborate with the warehouse and logistics team for material receipts, inspections, and storage.
  
• Monitor stock levels to avoid overstocking or stockouts.
  
• Coordinate with transporters and logistics partners for timely delivery of materials to project sites.
  

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure all purchases comply with government regulations (e.g., ALMM, DCR norms in India).
  
• Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and vendor interactions.
  
• Prepare procurement-related MIS reports and present to management.
  

Cross-functional Coordination

• Work closely with Project, Design, Engineering, and Finance teams to align procurement activities.
  
• Ensure technical specs and BOQs are aligned with procurement plans.
  
• Support project execution teams in resolving supply chain issues.
  

Quality Assurance

• Ensure vendors deliver materials that meet quality and certification standards (IEC, MNRE, BIS).
  
• Coordinate third-party inspections or internal quality checks as needed.

Preferred candidate profile

Solar Industry Experience.
