Job Description

Server management activities such as Disk management, LVM management, Software Managegent Configuring working with alternate disk installation while upgrading and installing patches. Experience troubleshooting performance related issues (CPU, Memory, Network, disks) File system management - Creation, Deletion, File Systems Changes Grow and Shrink. Managing log files, errpt, daily health checks. Working with paging spaces – creation, increase, decrease paging spaces as per the requirement. Server restore using mksysb and working with NIM such as configuring making resources for network installation. Server restore via NIM using mksysb etc., Server Installation, APAR, PTF and TL installation and management. Configuration of new devices. Identifying faulty devices and replacing devices - disk replacement incases of any disasters. Working with mirrored logical volumes. Device management, including adding, changing, and configuring physical and logical devices. Installation, configuration, Migration, Maintenance and troubleshooting of AIX User/Group administration and management LVM/VG/file system Management, AIX device firmware upgrades NFS Server & Client Implementation Shell scripting for routine jobs, automation of tasks and monitoring Installation and configuration Aix support packages like SCM, SSH,ISS,SUDO Perform monthly health checks on wide range of servers and ensure they comply with policy standards. Checking error reports on the servers and health check of the servers Running system snap, system dump, diag to troubleshoot any problems found in the server Change/Problem Management Tools- SNow Installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of HACMP clusters Checking cluster statistics, resource groups status, moving resources between nodes Monitoring all the HACMP cluster Services Review of HACMP generated logs Cluster storage activities – Addition/expansion of VG’s/LV’s/Filesystems HACMP failover/fallback operations Perform Cluster verification to ensure configurations on all HACMP nodes are identical Volume group synchronization to replicate attributes across cluster Installation and configuration of Linux operating system SUSE and RHEL. Sound knowledge in yast tool, zypper and yum Managing Linux networking services, configuration and troubleshooting. Perform user and group administration and filesystem permissions Installation and Configuration of Linux operating system. Identify and troubleshooting DNS issues Mail Server Configuration, securing & troubleshooting Linux web server as Apache configuration, securing and troubleshooting Firewall, Backup of Linux servers. Monitor and troubleshoot network and server issues. Securing and maintain samba, FTP, SSH Server Working experience on fast phased 24X7 production support. Exposure on handling Incident and Change management. Experience on DNS and Mail Server Administration. Experience on Patch Management on different Unix Flavors. Remote Server Administration using Putty connectors. Experience in troubleshooting in a distributed environment Configuration of NFS, SSH, FTP and SAMBA server Experience in bash shell scripting. Administration and maintenance of Mail servers and Web servers Server management as part of daily routines – Housekeeping, Health checks, working on tickets, disk management, LVM, User Management, Software installations, job Scheduling using Cron, backup and restorations.
