Main Responsibilities:
- Manage the VMware virtualization infrastructure (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, vSAN)
- Implement high availability architectures and disaster recovery plans
- Design, deploy, and manage virtualization environments using VMware vSphere.
- Monitor and maintain virtual machines (VMs), ensuring high availability, performance, and capacity planning.
- Develop and implement backup schedules, policies, and disaster recovery (DR) procedures.
- Perform routine audits, tests, and failover simulations of backup and DR strategies.
- Patch, upgrade, and maintain virtualization hosts and backup infrastructure.
- Collaborate with IT security to ensure systems meet compliance and security standards.
- Provide support for incidents and requests related to virtualized environments and backups.
- Generate reports on system performance, backup status, and capacity usage.
- Participate in on-call rotation for infrastructure support and disaster recovery.
Technical Skills:
Strong expertise in VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, DRS/HA
Scripting skills are a plus
Knowledge of Veaam and netbackup backup solutions
Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux environments (RHEL)
