Purpose

The Data Security and Governance Head will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the company's data governance strategy, policies, and procedures. The individual will be accountable for ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements, while also ensuring that the company's data is protected and used in an ethical manner.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include but will not be restricted to:

• Oversees the integrity, usability, and security of all data assets under the purview.
• Function as the primary point of contact for all data governance-related matters and ensure that data governance is integrated into the overall business strategy.
• Facilitates sharing and adoption of data governance best practices.
• Works with business owners to define and establish data quality rules, definitions, and strategy consistent with division and organizational strategies and goals
• Maintains artifacts surrounding best practices and standards related to data tools and technologies.
• Monitor and report on data governance compliance, identifying and addressing any non-compliant areas
• Collaborate with external parties and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with data governance regulations
• Continuously review and improve data governance processes and procedures to ensure they are up-to-date and effective.

Technical and Qualitative requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field plus 10+ years of Governance experience within the industry and inclusive of 2+ years working within a Data Office or data related programs
• Demonstrated aptitude in data governance activities and best practices
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to communicate business and functional requirements to stakeholders
• Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, regulations, and best practices
• Experience in implementing and managing data governance policies and procedures
• Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion
• Experience with data privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA is a plus
• Experience in a related field such as data management, data analytics, or information security is a plus.
