1. The purpose of this role is to measure the customers risk exposure, analyze historical data and assist in determining the premium that needs to be charged to ensure that risk.
2. The individual will play an essential role in implementation of these projects from the prospect of our insurance domain.
3. Major responsibilities include mentoring and training analysts, assessing standard and non-standard risks, reviewing their data, checking for data discrepancies, and ensuring proactive communication of the same to the underwriters.
4. Working with risk assessment information, aggregating the risks of different lines of business (such as General Liability & Automobile Liability), and identifying data sources that can be used for pricing decision.
5. Assessing new and existing risk information and further segregating various types of exposures amongst key factors such as state, territories, vehicle type, weight, radius, etc.
6. Showcasing and utilizing a detailed understanding of complex policy terminologies, extensions, limitations, their interpretation, and application.
7. Guiding team members on various Underwriting concepts, process, operations, compliance, and related requirements.
8. Knowing relevant legal, regulatory, ethical, and social requirements with client’s mandates and ensuring adherence to the same.
9. Preparing documentation and mapping the flow of decision logic through a prescribed software.
10. Contributing to the organizational values by actively engaging in the larger learning and development process.
11. Driving concise, structured, and effective communication with peers and clients.
1. Nuanced understanding of the insurance industry, its key market players, business, and economic considerations, etc.
2. Ability to apply insurance knowledge in day-today situations, processes, client interactions and potential needs/issues.
3. Proficient knowledge of various insurance products and lines of businesses, thus being able to guide team members on specific queries.
4. In-depth knowledge of the client’s competition, challenges, strengths, etc. in specific markets such as US/ANZ/UK/AME.
5. Assist in sensitizing the team on cultural and regional difference to better facilitate client interactions.
6. Awareness and implementation of insurance regulatory requirements applicable to the area of work.
Skills
1. Proficient with MS Office.
2. Work with client’s system for Underwriting.
3. Strong analytical skills to analyze given data using prescribed tools and techniques.
4. Good logic building skills to draw logical and accurate insights.
5. Professional writing and communication skills with the ability to formulate structured and concise emails, presentations, and documents.
6. Competent to work in an active and diverse environment by being mindful of the cultural and regional differences with peers and clients.
