Key Accountabilities 1. Liaise with internal and external writers/editors, Team Leader/Scheduler to plan each content and product update cycle. Estimate the size and make-up of the planned report (ie. Number of pages, priority of material, content: new copy, legislation, cases etc.) 2. Negotiate with writer/editor for the appropriate lock-down dates and mail dates and reschedule contents and product in CMT with Team Leader/Scheduler where necessary. 3. Content preparation: Define required updates/contents with internal/external writer/editors. (State products: via ASD) Request conversion of contents to XML from conversion group if required. Receive tagged contents from writers/editors and validate it to ensure compliance to standard DTD using the publishing system. Review packages and split them for Tax Day news and Tracker. . Legislation Products: Consolidate legal contents ensuring Editors amendments/omissions/insertions are made accurately and keeping with house-styles. Check imported data for completeness (legal source material this requires copy holding/proofreading). Select/create and update nominated content objects for new and changed content. Complete structural mark-up and insert XML links in new and changed content objects as directed. Coordinate request of graphic creation from graphic team, if content requires graphic inclusion. Initiate request for Guide cards, Transfer binders, Labels etc, following house procedures where update requires it. Update legislation using state documents and editorial instructions; write caution/editors notes and history lines providing effective date information; work with editorial to maintain and clean multiple versions legislative material on a routine basis Work with Editor/Writer to ensure that all necessary finders (if any) are prepared for an update and are incorporated into relevant products. 4. Print production: Compose pages for loose-leaf products, newsletters and books. Check composed pages for completeness of content, report number, copyright, heads and feet. Generate and check sigchart. Generate loose-leaf filing instructions. Append filing instructions and include Report Letter as per given by editor. QA to ensure accuracy and page sequence including all heads and feets before sending off for 2nd check by Team Leader or Senior Production Editor. Check loose-leaf filing instructions. Ensuring overall look of pages are satisfactory (graphics, charts, etc.). Submit POD files and sigchart for print clearance according to production schedule. Check printers proofs where relevant. 5. Electronic and CD production Build contents for web using specific tools (Jobrunner). QA contents through the staging server (TRN Demo and STG)/TO3. Authpub the web product to ensure contents are updated on the TRN live site and IntelliConnect. Escalate issue to the internal Electronic Processing team, if Load / Authpub fails. Check Document Counts (Doc Counts) to ensure integrity of contents is not compromised. QA CD contents on TO3. 6. Electronic Night-time Event-based Processing (Daily) Review files in the content management system to ensure compliance to standard DTD package requirement. Push contents to electronic platform and ensure the load is successful. Review the contents on TRN Demo and STG to ensure integrity is not compromised Authpub the contents to TRN live site and IntelliConnect platforms. Escalate issues in a timely manner to relevant support groups in the RW, Chicago for a resolution if there are failure with the load or system issues.
