Title Mechatronics R&D Engineering Manager

TouchMagix, a leading award-winning technology company in the field of interactive experiences, is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as an R&D Manager - Mechatronics. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of mechanical, electronics, and software engineers to design and develop futuristic interactive systems. TouchMagix specializes in creating innovative interactive products such as Interactive Floors, Interactive Walls, and Electro Mechanical Arcade Video Games, distributed globally to over 40 countries through our network of partners and distributors. As the R&D Manager - Mechatronics, you will be based in Pune with frequent travel to our US factory and tradeshows. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of experience and hold a B.Tech. degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Instrumentation, preferably with an M.Tech qualification. You should possess hands-on knowledge in guiding teams to build rapid prototypes and transitioning them to production-ready stages. Proficiency in mechanical and electronic design, along with expertise in electronics for motor control, sensor interfacing, PCB design, and the ability to interpret drawings using software like Solid Works, Autocad, or CATIA are essential. In addition, familiarity with enclosure design techniques such as sheet metal, vacuum forming, injection molding, and wood, as well as knowledge of CNC manufacturing and optimization, are required. The role also involves creating efficient production designs and Bills of Materials (BOM) for manufacturing, understanding design for 3D printing, and being adaptable to organize work as per project requirements. The ideal candidate should be well-organized, autonomous, open to feedback, and thrive in a fast-paced, iterative work environment. Key responsibilities of the role include leading a diverse team of engineers, overseeing the core design of mechatronics systems, conducting technical analysis for Requests for Quotations (RFQs), managing project schedules, and coordinating with the US factory for product development and production. You will also be involved in vendor evaluation, problem-solving, new product development, quality planning, and system performance optimization. Experience in image processing and software development would be advantageous for this role.
