Technical Writer

You will play a crucial role as a Technical Writer at ClearTrail, where your primary responsibility will be to plan, create, and maintain content for end-users, contributing significantly to product development and enhancing user experience. You will be tasked with generating user guides, static documentation sites, UI text, FAQs, video scripts, and other educational materials. Your expertise in simplifying complex subjects for the audience will be key in this position. Collaborating closely with the product management team, senior technical writer, and senior product manager, you will engage with various teams, including software developers, QA engineers, project managers, customer success specialists, tech operations, DevOps engineers, and the marketing team. Your responsibilities will encompass content creation, including procedural documentation like user manuals, quick start guides, testing manuals, FAQs, and error messages for software products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation. Additionally, you will be involved in creating video scripts for software product training and assisting in the production of instructional videos. Utilizing tools like Hugo, Jekyll, Docusaurus, Visual Studio code, and Git, you will develop markdown content for documentation sites and maintain version-controlled content. Your role also entails ensuring user-friendly and audience-specific documentation, timely communication with stakeholders, and staying updated on emerging documentation trends and technologies. To excel in this role, you should possess 3-7 years of professional experience in technical writing or a related field, preferably within the software industry. Your expertise should include strong comprehension and editorial skills, along with a quick grasp of technical concepts. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and accuracy are essential. Proficiency in Markdown, HTML, and CSS is required, as well as familiarity with technical writing best practices and style guides. Being able to work both independently and collaboratively is crucial, along with an understanding of doc-as-a-Code principles and experience with version control systems like Git and GitHub. Knowledge of video creation tools, such as Camtasia, is beneficial. While certification in technical writing or a related field is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Additionally, familiarity with the basics of computer networking or telecom domain services would be a plus for this role.,
