Position Title: Application Engineer Reports To: Application Engineer Manager Role Type: Individual Contribution Location: Kolkata Job Responsibilities: The key purpose of the job is to develop and promote segment-oriented Application Solutions for Railways and manage Condition Monitoring projects in the Railways Sector. The ideal job holder should have 3-6 years of experience primarily in application engineering, maintenance exposure, or services, along with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, or Mining Engineering. High technical competence and knowledge about SKF Products and Solutions are essential, along with good communication skills at the senior management level. Knowledge of Railway Systems and processes such as product approval cycles and customer complaint management is also required. Key Responsibilities include developing high-quality application engineering solutions for customers in the segment, supporting the commercial proposals process, achieving business plans, documenting solutions developed with customers, conducting training and development activities, actively participating in technical forums, managing technical complaints, communicating with customers, conducting technical seminars, building long-term relationships with customers, evaluating profitability, staying updated on technologies, developing internal networks, striving for continuous improvement, supporting projects, products, and services, and adhering to quality procedures and Code of Conduct. Successful application engineering support will contribute to achieving our team mission through three key avenues. Application and Special Quotation Support - Responding to field sales inquiries regarding application, technical, and manufacturing capabilities related to product specifications - Guiding field sales towards solutions that meet customer requirements - Supporting Data Center projects with multiple product requirements and optimizing the final scope of supply - Reviewing and evaluating special options requirements, supporting SQ (Special Quote) needs by providing cost and lead time estimates, and developing subcomponent specifications, engaging with suppliers, and analyzing factory manufacturing capability Expert Solutions - Assisting field sales with technical clarifications for customers, potentially engaging directly with customers - Guiding field sales and key customers on system design approaches to enhance competitive advantage by specifying tailored equipment packages - Balancing chiller performance with sub-system components and features to provide expert solutions - Aligning field support with knowledge of chiller products available in the market and regional product strategy Product & Product Applications Development - Monitoring and analyzing common inquiries, requests, and challenges to identify new applications, develop new special quotation offerings, and guide global product teams - Providing necessary materials for Data center application literature, product presentations, and training materials - Collecting and offering constructive feedback to global product teams on resources, tools, and documentation available to field sales and customers - Delivering training presentations on product changes and new products to field sales and key customers - Engaging in industry organizations and technical seminars - Monitoring and providing formal comments on product/application relevant codes and standards In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting sales teams, ensuring customer satisfaction, and contributing to the growth and success of Johnson Controls in the Middle East and Africa market.,
