Design parts and assemblies that meet quality targets while minimizing cost. Participate in prototype development and follow internal/external testing schedules. Witness internal/external product testing in India and abroad. Collaborate with the NPD team to execute engineering activities. Provide required data to the configurator team as per project plan. Participate in DFMEA, considering failure modes at various design stages. Prepare design documentation as required for project efficiency. Job Context: Responsible for executing assigned engineering design tasks defined by the project scope. Operates as an individual contributor within the team, ensuring alignment with MRD requirements and testing protocols (internal/external). We are looking for a Lead Electro-mechanical Engineer who is good in advanced electrical engineering concepts and expertise in design and development of medium voltage protection and switchgear products. Education: M.Tech Power systems / B.Tech Electrical engineering or Mechanical engineering Work Mode - Regular office Mandatory: Minimum 4 to 7 years experience in electrical/power/utility industry dealing with medium voltage protection and switching products Must have working knowledge in Autodesk inventor or SolidWorks 3d modelling and 2d drafting. Hands on experience in designing fault current interrupting products such as VCB/ACB or recloser or circuit breaker or fusing product design (any one preferred). Sound knowledge in designing medium voltage disconnecting switches and load breaking air insulated or gas insulated switchgears. Hands on experience in designing latching and actuating mechanisms for VCB/ACB/recloser/capacitor switches (any one preferred). Knowledge in arc plasma physics and its interruption Knowledge in electro-mechanical and electro-magnetic assemblies. Basic knowledge in magnetics design & selection of electro-mechanical actuators like solenoids & Cts or transformers. Basic experience in short circuit breaking test, di-electric testing, short time withstand current test and its result interpretation. Working knowledge in any one PDM and PLM software’s. Proficient in creating Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) as well as fabrication drawings using Inventor and SolidWorks. We are hiring an experienced Assistant Manager Design - Electrical to support the electrical system design of solar PV projects. The role involves creating detailed designs for DC, HT and AC systems, protection schemes, and grid interfacing for utility-scale and commercial solar installations. Key Responsibilities: Design and layout of electrical systems including PV modules, inverters, ITD, Power transformers, and switchgear. Prepare single line diagrams (SLDs) plan layout, Electrical designs including DC wiring, AC wiring & HT wiring, Earthing layout, LA layout, ITD design, ICR design, etc. Ensure electrical designs comply with relevant codes (IEC, NEC, IEEE) and utility requirements. Conduct system simulations using software like Sketchup, PVsyst, Helioscope, and ETAP. Design wiring schematics and specify required equipment for multi-layer power distribution systems. Creating and reviewing wiring diagrams, layouts, and BOMs. Define new product integration testing plans. Lead electrical design efforts during new product development projects such as selecting and qualifying electrical components, ensuring electromagnetic compatibility Work with domestic and international teams to develop and support products. REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS Bachelors in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of experience. 5+ years of experience in AC electrical system product design Proficiency with electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, EPlan, and others Experience designing to electrical specifications for power distribution offerings including switchgear, switchboards, transfer switches, loadbanks, and generators. Experience with the creation of detailed technical product documentation to support product manufacturing, functional testing, certification testing, and customer requests. Ability to specify safe and effective testing practices for prototype testing. Experience selecting and validating electrical power distribution components, such as Circuit Breakers, Contactors, Cable, Terminal Blocks, etc, based on application specific requirements and industry standard derating criteria such as the NEC, UL, and others, Proficient in Microsoft Office software
