Storage and Backup Administrator

Role & responsibilities

- Administer and manage Dell EMC storage arrays (e.g., PowerMax, Vxrail, PowerStore ,,,,).

- Provision storage volumes, manage LUNs, RAID groups, storage pools, and SAN zoning.

- Perform firmware and software upgrades in coordination with change management.

- Monitor and tune storage systems for performance and capacity.

- Implement and manage storage replication, snapshots, and disaster recovery configurations.

- Manage SAN infrastructure using Dell EMC Connectrix/Brocade switches.

- Support backup and recovery systems (e.g., Dell EMC Data Domain ...).

- Administer and troubleshoot backup systems (Veeam, Veritas, Acronis) to ensure data integrity and rapid recovery.

- Develop and implement backup schedules, policies, and disaster recovery (DR) procedures.

- Perform routine audits, tests, and failover simulations of backup and DR strategies.

- Generate reports on system performance, backup status, and capacity usage.

-Collaborate with VMware, database, and application teams to ensure proper storage integration.

- Perform root cause analysis of incidents and develop long-term solutions.

- Document infrastructure, procedures, and operational workflows.

- Ensure compliance with data retention, security, and audit requirements.

- Participate in on-call rotation for infrastructure support and disaster recovery.

Preferred candidate profile

Technical Skills:

-Strong understanding of:

SAN/NAS protocols (FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB)

RAID, storage tiering, and deduplication.

Storage provisioning in VMware and physical environments.

-Experience with:

Dell EMC technologies (Powerscale, PowerStore)

SAN switches (Brocade or Cisco MDS)

Dell EMC backup solutions (Data Domain)

Solid expertice in Veritas net backup

Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux environments (RHEL/CentOS)

Knowledge of Veaam backup solutions
