Software Engineer II - Python

As a Software Engineer II at AlphaSense, you will be an integral part of a team dedicated to developing the AlphaSense platform. Your role will involve designing, implementing, and optimizing robust solutions for ingesting millions of documents per month, including multimedia content such as audio and video from the public web. You will also be responsible for integrating cutting-edge AI models, enabling intelligent suggestions, and content synchronization. We are looking for proactive problem-solvers with a go-getter attitude, startup experience, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable applications using Python, solving complex technical challenges with innovative solutions, collaborating across teams to optimize system performance, taking ownership of projects from inception to deployment, leading or supporting data ingestion processes, continuously learning and adapting to new tools and technologies, and mentoring and guiding junior developers. Requirements for this role include 2+ years of professional Python development experience, a strong understanding of Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, and FastAPI, proven success working in a startup environment, proactive problem-solving skills, a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, and the ability to work well independently and within cross-functional teams. Nice to have skills include familiarity with Crossplane and/or ArgoCD for GitOps-based infrastructure management, and experience working with Docker and Kubernetes.
