Software Engineer II - Python

As a Software Engineer II at AlphaSense, you will be an integral part of our team focused on developing and maintaining data ingestion systems at scale. Your role will involve designing, implementing, and optimizing robust solutions for processing millions of documents monthly, including multimedia content like audio and video from the public web. You will be responsible for integrating cutting-edge AI models, facilitating intelligent suggestions, and content synchronization. Your proactive problem-solving skills, go-getter attitude, and ability to thrive in a startup environment will be key assets in this role. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable applications using Python. You will tackle complex technical challenges with innovative solutions that enhance product features and operational efficiencies. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate applications, optimize system performance, and streamline data flows will be essential. You will take ownership of projects from inception to deployment, ensuring high-quality solutions that enhance user experience. Additionally, you will lead or support data ingestion processes to ensure seamless data flow and management, while continuously learning and adapting to new tools, frameworks, and technologies. To excel in this role, you should have at least 2 years of professional Python development experience, with a solid understanding of Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI. Your proven success in a startup environment, coupled with your ability to tackle challenging technical issues and adapt quickly to changing conditions, will be crucial. A willingness to learn and embrace new technologies and challenges is essential, along with the ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams. Experience with media processing and live streaming techniques would be advantageous, as well as familiarity with Crossplane and/or ArgoCD for GitOps-based infrastructure management. Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes would also be beneficial.
