Software Development Engineer II - Backend Technologies

You will take ownership of full product features by designing, developing, testing, and deploying them across backend and frontend interfaces. Collaborating with product managers and designers, you will understand requirements and translate them into scalable solutions. Your responsibilities will include writing clean, maintainable, and high-performance code using Python (Django/FastAPI) or Java (Spring Boot). Designing and implementing RESTful APIs, as well as integrating with third-party APIs and tools, will be a key part of your role. Additionally, you will build reusable frontend components using modern frameworks and libraries, optimizing performance for web and mobile platforms, including GIS-heavy map interfaces. In this position, you will also be expected to conduct code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and mentor junior developers when necessary. Monitoring production systems, identifying performance bottlenecks, and deploying fixes proactively will be crucial aspects of your work. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to contribute to architectural decisions and help shape engineering best practices across the team.
