Job Description

Job Summary:

Maxima is looking for a hands-on Site Supervisor with a strong background in Instrumentation Installation and Commissioning to manage and oversee field execution at project sites. The candidate will ensure all installation and commissioning work is carried out as per approved drawings, safety norms, and project timelines, maintaining coordination between site teams, contractors, and the project office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate day-to-day site activities for instrumentation installation and commissioning work.
  • Ensure installation of instruments (transmitters, sensors, control valves, etc.), panels, JB wiring, and cable laying is done as per drawings and specifications.
  • Assist in commissioning tasks such as loop checking, calibration, signal testing, and interfacing with PLC/DCS systems.
  • Coordinate with client representatives, consultants, and contractors for work permits, inspections, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily progress, manpower, and materials.
  • Ensure adherence to safety practices and use of appropriate PPE by all personnel on site.
  • Identify site issues, delays, or material shortages and report promptly to the Project Manager.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and ensure execution teams are briefed on the day’s scope of work.
  • Support documentation activities like Red Markup drawings, test reports, and commissioning logs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or ITI in Instrumentation / Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
  • 5–10 years of hands-on experience in industrial instrumentation site work.
  • Experience in oil & gas, chemical, power, water treatment, or similar process industries preferred.
  • Ability to read P&IDs, loop diagrams, instrument layouts, and termination drawings.
  • Experience supervising teams and coordinating with contractors and engineers.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Practical knowledge of instrumentation devices and field installation practices.
  • Familiarity with control systems (PLC/DCS) and communication protocols (HART, Modbus).
  • Strong supervision and team management abilities.
  • Good communication skills to interact with clients and internal teams.
  • Safety-conscious and detail-oriented approach.

Working Conditions:

  • Site-based role with extended working hours during commissioning.
  • Must be willing to travel and stay at project sites for extended periods.
  • Physically fit to work in industrial environments and heights if required.
