Senior Software Engineer PLC & Industrial Automation

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Software Engineer PLC & Industrial Automation to join our engineering and automation team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PLC programming , control panel design , and industrial communication protocols , along with the ability to lead installations and provide technical support. This role demands a hands-on professional who can manage automation projects end-to-end and provide mentorship to junior engineers when needed. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and deploy PLC programs for industrial automation systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, etc.) Lead control panel design, wiring diagram creation, and system integration Implement and troubleshoot industrial PLC communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, etc.) Integrate sensors, actuators, VFDs, and motor control systems Support onsite commissioning , system testing, and troubleshooting of automation systems Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project timelines and quality standards Develop and maintain user interfaces or system extensions using basic C# programming Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members Create detailed documentation, including functional design specifications and testing reports Key Requirements: 6 to 8 years of experience in PLC programming and industrial automation Strong knowledge of panel design , wiring standards, and electrical schematics Solid understanding of PLC networks and communication protocols Experience in motor control systems (DOL, Star-Delta, VFDs, Servo, etc.) Basic working knowledge of C# or similar programming languages Proven ability to troubleshoot , debug, and support live industrial systems Good communication skills and ability to interface with clients and vendors Willingness to travel for site support, installation, or commissioning Preferred Qualifications: Degree/Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related fields Experience with HMI/SCADA development is an added advantage Familiarity with industry standards and safety protocols Exposure to automation in sectors like manufacturing, FMCG, packaging, or pharma
