Senior Software Engineer I (Java with React JS)

As a Senior Software Engineer at PowerSchool International, you will be an integral part of the R&D efforts for our portfolio of products catering to various countries worldwide. Your primary focus will be on Java and React JavaScript technologies, contributing to the development of framework components for Internationalization. Joining an Agile team within the SchoolMessenger organization, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the communication solutions provided to thousands of schools. Your responsibilities will include implementing new features, maintaining existing ones, developing reports, and ensuring the highest quality of our K-12 software. Your key responsibilities will involve being an active part of software development projects from inception to delivery, mentoring team members, optimizing team efficiency, participating in the hiring process, analyzing and improving web application performance, and implementing new software features following best practices. To excel in this role, you must have at least 5 years of experience in a software engineer role, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React JavaScript, Java, and Spring. Additionally, experience with MySQL databases, cloud platforms like AWS, and familiarity with OWASP threats and mitigation techniques will be advantageous. As a successful candidate, you should possess strong communication skills, the ability to work with various software design principles, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to a dynamic work environment. Your role will also involve mentoring and coaching team members to foster their skill development and experience.
