Abnormal Security is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Message Detection - Entity Scoring Signals team. The Message Detection team plays a crucial role in developing a high-recall Detection Engine capable of analyzing hundreds of millions of messages in milliseconds to combat the constantly changing attack landscape. The team's mission is to deliver top-notch detector efficacy by utilizing a combination of generalizable and auto-trained models alongside specific detectors for high-value attack categories. Within the Entity Scoring Signals team, we are driving advancements in email security by creating state-of-the-art signals and detectors to detect cybersecurity threats. Our approach involves breaking down emails into entities and devising sophisticated heuristics to evaluate the suspiciousness of each entity. This entity-centric strategy enhances the accuracy, actionability, and explainability of threat detection, allowing our engine to swiftly adapt to emerging attack patterns. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the team's direction and roadmap. You will focus on understanding false negatives and identifying potential attacks that could disrupt customer workflows significantly. Additionally, you will be instrumental in defining the technical roadmap to address critical customer issues while maintaining an exceptionally high level of recall in our detection decisioning system. **Responsibilities:** - Architect, design, build, and deploy backend services and infrastructure to support a top-tier Detection Engine - Lead impactful projects such as enhancing our feature store, optimizing models for lower latency/memory requirements, and serving as a liaison between our ML and platform teams - Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers through 1on1 sessions, pair programming, code reviews, and design reviews **Requirements:** - 8+ years of experience as a hands-on engineer developing complex data-oriented end-user products - Proven track record in translating business requirements into scalable, maintainable systems with a preference for simpler, iterative solutions - Strong analytical mindset with the ability to tackle complex problems through a data-driven and methodical approach - Proficiency in real-time, online, high-throughput, and low-latency distributed systems using Python or Golang - Effective software engineering skills with the ability to produce structured, readable, well-tested, and efficient code - Collaborative nature with experience working with cross-functional teams to drive projects to completion - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems, or a related engineering field **Nice to Have:** - Knowledge of ML systems/products and distributed system technologies - Familiarity with the cybersecurity industry Join us at Abnormal Security, where you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our mission to revolutionize cybersecurity and protect our clients from evolving threats.,
