Senior Engineer, Quality Assurance

We are looking to hire a functional tester who codes someone who deeply understands the product, relentlessly questions its behavior, and automates everything that matters. You lead with curiosity, think like a user, but execute like an engineer. This role is not a manual QA job but is for someone who sees a user flow and thinks intelligently about scripting it and asks why bugs escaped the pipeline and how to prevent them forever. Quality matters to you because you care about the product. As a functional tester at MeasureOne, you will design and implement automation-first functional tests that cover real-world, user-driven scenarios. You will write robust, maintainable scripts across UI, APIs, and workflows to avoid manual test repetition. Owning end-to-end test coverage for product features from discovery to release, you will collaborate with product and engineering teams to define and test user outcomes, continuously improve testing strategy, coverage, and CI/CD integration, diagnose product behaviors, investigate issues, and ensure high signal from automated failures. To succeed in this role, you must have 8+ years of experience in QA or testing roles with vigorous functional testing and automation experience. Hands-on scripting skills in Python, JavaScript, or Java are essential, along with strong experience in API testing using tools like Postman, REST-assured, or similar. You should have the proven ability to break systems through exploratory testing and turn insights into automated protection, write test code like production code that is modular, maintainable, and DRY, and experience abstracting fixtures, test data, and assertions for reuse across test cases. Understanding and translating API contracts (Swagger/OpenAPI) into reliable automation, owning quality gates in CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.), being a clear, concise communicator in reporting bugs and collaborating across teams, and having a deep understanding of Agile environments and product-centric development are key to success. Nice-to-have qualifications include experience in early-stage product environments or startups and familiarity with security, performance, or accessibility testing.
