Senior Director Head of Engineering

Job Description

The Senior Director Head of Engineering leads the end-to-end engineering function for BEAT, Acuitys flagship digital transformation program. This role is responsible for defining and executing the technology strategy, overseeing product engineering, cloud operations, application security, and quality assurance. The role demands a visionary leader who can scale engineering capabilities, drive innovation, and ensure delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performance digital products. Key Responsibilities 1. Technology Strategy Execution - Define and implement BEATs engineering strategy in alignment with business goals and digital transformation objectives. - Lead the adoption of modern engineering practices, including AI/GenAI, DevSecOps, microservices architecture, and cloud-native development. 2. Product Engineering Leadership - Oversee multiple agile product pods delivering SaaS-based digital solutions across financial services domains. - Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of product releases with measurable business impact. 3. Cloud Operations Security - Lead the CloudOps team responsible for infrastructure management, monitoring, patching, and incident response. - Ensure compliance with security standards and policies, including secure coding, testing, and deployment practices. 4. Quality Assurance Automation - Champion test automation and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices across engineering teams. - Drive quality metrics and governance to ensure robust and reliable product performance. 5. People Organizational Leadership - Manage a multi-level engineering organization, including senior architects, engineering managers, and technical leads. - Mentor and develop talent, foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning. 6. Stakeholder Collaboration - Partner with Product, Delivery, Sales, and Compliance teams to align engineering outcomes with business priorities. - Represent BEAT Engineering in executive forums, investment committees, and client engagements. Required Qualifications - 18+ years of experience in software architecture and engineering, with at least 5 years in senior technology leadership roles. - Proven track record in leading large-scale engineering teams and delivering enterprise-grade SaaS products. - Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS AZURE) and agile methodologies. - Deep expertise in Application as well as Infra security, understanding of frameworks such as CIS, ISO27001, SOC2 Type 2 etc. - Strong understanding of financial services domain and digital transformation trends. Preferred Attributes - Strategic thinker with strong execution focus. - Hands-on experience with modern programming framework and AI coding agents is highly desirable. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. - Passion for building high-performing teams and scalable platforms. - Lifelong learning attitude and ability to motivate teams to learn and experiment with new and challenging stuff.
