Senior Consultant - Pulmonology

As a Senior Consultant in Pulmonology, your role would involve diagnosing and treating patients with respiratory system disorders. Pulmonology is a medical specialty that focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of conditions affecting the lungs and respiratory system. Your responsibilities as a Specialist. Pulmonology may include : Patient Evaluation and Diagnosis : Conducting thorough evaluations of patients with respiratory symptoms, such as cough, shortness of breath, and chest pain. Performing physical examinations, reviewing medical histories, and ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, including pulmonary function tests, imaging studies, and laboratory tests, to establish accurate diagnoses. Treatment Planning and Management : Developing comprehensive treatment plans for patients based on their specific diagnoses and individual needs. This may involve prescribing medications, recommending lifestyle modifications, providing patient education, and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals. Respiratory Disease Management : Managing chronic respiratory diseases such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pulmonary fibrosis, and sleep disorders. This includes monitoring disease progression, adjusting treatment regimens, and providing ongoing support and education to patients. Interventional Procedures : Performing and overseeing various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to the respiratory system. This may include bronchoscopy, lung biopsies, thoracentesis, and other interventional techniques to diagnose and treat lung diseases. Critical Care : Managing patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) who require respiratory support or are critically ill due to conditions such as acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), pneumonia, or respiratory failure. This involves providing mechanical ventilation, monitoring patients closely, and making appropriate treatment decisions.
