Safety Officer

Role & responsibilities

The Safety Officer will support the implementation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices at commercial building project sites. The role involves conducting safety briefings, monitoring site activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and assisting in the preparation of method statements

• Conduct

  daily Tool Box Talks (TBT)

  to raise safety awareness among workers.
• Ensure all site workers are using appropriate

  Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  and follow safety protocols.
• Perform routine

  site inspections

  to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with HSE regulations.
• Assist in the preparation and implementation of

  Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS)

  and

  Work Method Statements (WMS)

  for all civil, electrical, and structural maintenance activities.
• Maintain documentation of safety checks, incident reports, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to enforce safety procedures.
• Report unsafe acts, near misses, and incidents, and follow up on preventive measures.
• Promote a culture of safety through on-site engagement and awareness programs

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Safety Engineering / Industrial Safety / Civil Engineering.
• 03 years of relevant experience, preferably in commercial building maintenance or construction projects.
• Basic knowledge of civil, electrical, and structural site operations.
• Familiarity with

  SWMS, WMS, risk assessment

  , and incident reporting procedures.
• Strong observation skills and a proactive approach to identifying safety risks.
• Good communication skills and ability to interact with workers and site teams.
