Role & responsibilities Responsible for leading and scaling Rooftop Solar business across residential, commercial, and industrial segments. The incumbent will own the business development strategy, sales execution, channel expansion, and marketing programs for the vertical, driving market share growth, revenue targets, and customer satisfaction. This role demands a dynamic, entrepreneurial mindset with strong experience in renewable energy solutions, a deep understanding of rooftop solar markets, and proven expertise in sales, channel management, and marketing communications. Preferred candidate profile MBA in Sales & Marketing / Business Management and/or Engineering graduate in Electrical, Renewable Energy, or related discipline with relevant experience in Rooftop Solar business. 1 .Rooftop Solar Industry & Product Expertise Thorough understanding of the rooftop solar ecosystem grid-tied, off-grid, hybrid, net metering, battery-backed systems. Knowledge of solar PV modules, inverters, storage solutions (especially batteries), BOS (Balance of System) components, and system design parameters. Awareness of emerging trends like solar + storage solutions, energy management systems (EMS), and smart metering. 2.Sales & Business Development Strategy Expertise in sales strategy development and execution for rooftop solar projects across residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional segments. Proven ability to manage national sales operations, dealer networks, EPC partners, institutional clients, and key accounts. Experience in large project tendering, bidding, and corporate PPAs (Power Purchase Agreements). 3. Marketing & Brand Positioning in Clean Energy Ability to conceptualize and execute solar-focused marketing strategies, trade schemes, and demand generation initiatives. Understanding of digital and offline marketing tools for B2B, institutional, and direct consumer segments in renewable energy. Experience managing trade shows, OEM partnerships, channel meets, and customer education programs in the solar industry. 4. Regulatory, Policy & Compliance Knowledge Familiarity with MNRE (Ministry of New and Renewable Energy) guidelines, state solar policies, subsidy frameworks, and net metering regulations. Awareness of government tender processes, vendor registrations, and DISCOM approval protocols. 5. Channel Development & EPC Partner Management Experience building and scaling EPC contractor networks, project developers, and channel sales models. Ability to drive channel partner profitability, service support, and operational efficiency. 6. Financial Acumen & P&L Management Strong grasp on commercial models in rooftop solar — CAPEX, OPEX, RESCO, PPA, and lease-based models. Ability to manage project costing, pricing strategy, margin optimization, and revenue forecasting. Exposure to project financing models and solar ROI/IRR calculations. 7. Customer Solutioning & Technical Advisory Capable of solution-selling and technical consultation with large clients, OEMs, institutional buyers, and channel partners. Understanding of site assessment, yield analysis, technical proposals, and feasibility reports. 8. Cross-functional Leadership & Collaboration Proficient in working with engineering, supply chain, legal, finance, service, and quality teams for smooth project and product lifecycle management. Experience collaborating with corporate affairs, policy advocacy groups, and external stakeholders for business enablement. Must be willing to be based out of Kolkata. Age limit : Max 45 years.
