Resident Geotechnical Engineer

Our comprehensive know-how spans the entire spectrum of mass rapid transit systems, including railways, metros, roads, buildings, and water & environment infrastructure. Our expertise covers all project stages, from upstream studies to operation and maintenance, offering services as Detailed Design Consultants, Project Management, and Independent Checking.

Missions/Main Duties

As a Resident Geotechnical Engineer for these bids, your responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing soil and rock samples

    to determine their properties, such as strength, permeability, and composition.
  • Developing factual and interpretive ground models

    based on the collected data.
  • Developing plans for foundations, retaining walls, and other geotechnical elements.

  • Evaluating the stability of slopes

    and recommending solutions for potential landslides or other slope failures.
  • Considering the environmental impact

    of construction projects and recommending measures to mitigate risk.
  • Collaborating with architects, engineers, and contractors

    to understand project requirements and provide geotechnical expertise.
  • Creating technical reports, drawings, and specifications

    to communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Monitoring construction activities

    to ensure that geotechnical recommendations are followed and that the project is proceeding safely and effectively.
  • Ensuring that all construction activities are conducted in a safe and responsible manner.

  • Reviewing the design prepared in the Detailed Design phase

    and preparing Construction Drawings to issue to the Contractor.
  • Examining the sub-soil investigation reports, shop drawings, work plan/schedule, quality assurance plan, and methodology

    submitted by the Contractor, and if found acceptable, recommending it for approval.

Profile/Skills

  • Education:

    Graduation in Civil Engineering or equivalent relevant degree.
  • Experience:

  • 20 years of general/professional experience.

  • Generally

    15 years of similar experience

    in the field of Geotech / foundation / underground / soil investigation.
  • Minimum

    5 years experience as a Geotechnical Engineer/Foundation Engineer

    .
  • Working experience in the

    SAARC/ASEAN region

    would be preferable.
  • Ability to work in both an

    independent and team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Strong team player, capable of conforming to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through patience, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to understand communication styles of team members and clients from a broad spectrum of disciplines.
