Role Overview:

QA Engineer / Tester

Key Responsibilities:

1. Test Design & Execution

• Design test scenarios and cases for BPM workflows, portals, and system integrations (APIs, databases).
  
• Perform end-to-end testing across UI, business logic, and backend services.
  
• Conduct regression, smoke, and sanity testing during various release cycles.
  

2. Defect Management & Team Collaboration

• Log and manage defects with detailed replication steps using tools like JIRA/ALM.
  
• Collaborate with developers for defect resolution and perform retesting.
  
• Proactively escalate critical issues and blockers.
  

3. Test Reporting & Client Communication

• Prepare and present test summary reports to stakeholders and clients.
  
• Participate in sprint reviews and UAT sessions to communicate testing progress and risks.
  
• Provide regular updates to the Project Manager.
  

4. Insurance Workflow Validation

• Validate workflows, business rules, and role-based access logic.
  
• Ensure data integrity across document-centric workflows and ECM integrations (e.g., FileNet).
  

Must-Have Skills:

Testing Expertise

Qualifications:

• Education:

  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience:

• 3+ years of QA experience with BPM/ECM applications.
  
• Strong experience in test planning, execution, and defect management.
  

• Technical Skills:

• SQL for backend validation.
  
• API Testing (REST/SOAP) with XML/JSON formats.
  
• Basic knowledge of Java/Spring Boot or Node.js (for automation readiness).
  

• Soft Skills:

• Strong communication skills for client and cross-functional collaboration.
  
• Ownership mindset and ability to meet testing deadlines independently.
  

Good to Have:

• Automation:

  Selenium, Playwright, or Cucumber for UI/API automation.

• BPM Testing Tools:

  Flowable Test Bench or similar.

• Insurance Compliance:

  Experience with ACORD, HIPAA, GDPR.

• Integration Testing:

  IBM MQ, Kafka, FileNet ECM.

• Certifications:

  ISTQB, CPCU, or other insurance domain certifications.
