Python Automation Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and automate test cases for networking platforms and software.
• Perform platform testing including SFP optics, PHY/MAC, Ethernet, and Layer 2/3 protocols.
• Automate test scenarios using Python and REST APIs.
• Conduct system testing, soak and sanity tests, stress tests, and negative testing.
• Work with traffic generation and analysis tools like Ixia, Spirent, Wireshark.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware/software engineering and release operations.
• Set up and manage test labs and network topologies.

Required Skills:

• Strong Python scripting

  for automation.
• Deep understanding of

  L2 protocols

  (e.g., STP, VLAN, MACSec) and

  L3 protocols

  (e.g., OSPF, BGP, EIGRP).
• Experience with

  Ethernet

  ,

  load balancing

  , and

  routing technologies

  .
• Familiarity with

  traffic tools

  like Sniffer, Ethereal, Ixia, Spirent.
• Knowledge of

  REST API automation

  .
• Experience in

  platform longevity testing

  and

  AI-based automation

  (preferred).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Master’s in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field.
• Certifications like

  CCNA

  ,

  CCNP

  , or equivalent.
• Prior experience with Cisco or similar networking products.
• Exposure to SD-WAN, Core Routing, and Enterprise/SP solutions.
