Purchase Executive (Pharmacy Retail)

Title: Purchase Executive

Location- Gurugram

Position Summary

The Purchase Executive will oversee end-to-end procurement for our retail pharmacy business. Youll source, negotiate, and onboard vendors, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standardshelping drive cost-efficiency and product availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for medicines, OTC items, and store consumables • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts to secure competitive deals and margins

• Procurement & Order Management

  • Raise purchase orders and process them via ERP/SAP/purchasing software • Coordinate timely deliveries, monitor lead times, and resolve delays or discrepancies

• Inventory Planning & Control

  • Monitor inventory and reorder levels to avoid stockouts or overstocks Jobed.ai • Forecast demand based on sales trends and collaborate with store/pharmacy teams

• Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure suppliers comply with regulatory standards and maintain product quality • Maintain proper documentation (e.g., certifications, batch records)

• Cost & Performance Reporting

  • Analyze purchasing data and develop cost-saving strategies • Prepare periodic reports on pricing trends, vendor performance, and purchase spend.

• CrossFunctional Collaboration

  • Work with pharmacy managers, finance, and operations to streamline planning and purchasing • Update shelfprice data, manage returns, and enforce documentation procedures

Qualifications & Skills

• Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Pharmacy, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related discipline

• Experience:

  • 25 years in procurement/purchasing, preferably within retail pharmacy or pharmaceutical sectors

• Core Competencies:

• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
  
• Proficiency with procurement/ERP software (SAP, Oracle, Tally, etc.) and MS Office
  
• Attention to detail, organisational ability, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  
• Understanding of pharma regulations, vendor certification, and quality control
