Job Overview

Proto Lab & Inventory Manager

Key Responsibilities

1. Lab Operations Management

• Oversee daily lab activities, ensuring workflow efficiency, resource optimization, and strict adherence to safety protocols.
  
• Maintain and organize lab equipment, tools, and workspace.
  
• Work cross-functionally to align lab tasks with project goals and timelines.
  

2. Team Leadership

• Lead and inspire a team of multidisciplinary technicians.
  
• Create an environment of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.
  
• Provide coaching and support to meet technical and project-related challenges.
  
• Identify training needs and deliver or coordinate training programs.
  

3. Project Management

• Plan and manage prototype development timelines and deliverables.
  
• Collaborate with R&D leadership to define and track project objectives.
  
• Monitor progress and address any project deviations in a timely manner.
  

4. Technical Expertise

• Stay updated on trends in drone technology and adjacent fields.
  
• Offer hands-on technical guidance and troubleshoot complex prototype issues.
  
• Engage with external experts, vendors, and partners for technical collaboration.
  

5. Quality Assurance

• Enforce quality control standards to ensure prototype reliability and performance.
  
• Develop testing protocols and coordinate with the V&V (Verification & Validation) team to resolve issues.
  

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of experiments, prototypes, and test results.
  
• Create detailed reports for internal use and support technical documentation needs.
  

7. Inventory Management & Stock Control

• Implement inventory control practices, including stock tracking and rotation.
  
• Conduct monthly inventory audits to reduce discrepancies.
  
• Perform quarterly cycle counts and reconcile inventory variances.
  

8. Procurement

• Coordinate PR (Purchase Request) activities with the store.
  
• Manage material inward/outward processes.
  
• Handle GRN (Goods Receipt Note) filing for vendor-supplied materials.
  

9. Storage Management

• Ensure the organization and cleanliness of storage spaces.
  
• Maximize storage utilization and promote efficient material handling.
  

10. Reporting & Analysis

• Process material disposition requests for crashed/disposed products.
  
• Prepare work orders and handle product postings in SAP.
  
• Complete monthly SAP transactions for consumed materials in coordination with finance.
  
• Generate monthly R&D inventory analysis reports.
  

Candidate Profile

• Education:

  Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related field.

• Experience:

  10+ years in an R&D or prototyping lab, with prior leadership responsibilities.

• Technical Skills:

  Strong understanding of drone technology, robotics, and inventory systems (preferably SAP).

• Leadership Qualities:

  Strong, influential personality; capable of driving performance in a dynamic environment.

• Communication:

  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Preferred:

  Armed Forces veterans with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
