Professor - Philosophy

As a full-time Professor in Philosophy at FLAME University, Pune, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the pioneer of liberal education in India. The School of Liberal Education at FLAME University emphasizes interdisciplinary research and teaching, offering undergraduate programs that provide rigorous interdisciplinary training. As a Professor in Philosophy, your role will involve teaching foundational courses such as Critical Reasoning and Applied Ethics, as well as elective philosophy courses like Introduction to Philosophy, Ethics and the Good Life, Metaphysics, Epistemology, Existentialism, and Political Philosophy. You will be expected to be a clear and engaging teacher for undergraduate students, potentially being their first exposure to philosophy in an academic context. Additionally, you will actively pursue research in Philosophy, with opportunities to publish your work. FLAME University also offers a Ph.D. program in Humanities, allowing qualifying faculty members to serve as advisors in their area of expertise. Your responsibilities will include teaching, advising students, participating in faculty colloquia, and contributing to academic administration. A Ph.D. (completed or nearing submission) is required at the time of application.
