About the job:

Key responsibilities:

1. Lead end-to-end procurement activities for live plants, seeds, and gardening essentials based on business needs and seasonal demand 2. Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers through market research, vendor discovery platforms like IndiaMART and ExportersIndia, and local sourcing 3. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms to ensure cost-effective procurement while maintaining product quality standards 4. Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, nurseries, and farming partners to ensure consistent supply and service levels 5. Assess supplier performance regularly in terms of quality, compliance, delivery timelines, and reliability 6. Collaborate with operations and marketing teams to forecast demand for high-velocity SKUs and seasonal products 7. Maintain optimal inventory levels to balance availability and avoid overstocking or stockouts 8. Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure timely pickups and deliveries across India 9. Analyze courier performance and shipping weight slabs to identify the most cost-effective and efficient delivery methods 10. Align procurement plans with marketing campaigns, events, and new product launches 11. Liaise with the finance department for the timely processing of purchase orders, invoices, and payment settlements 12. Ensure all procured goods, especially live plants, meet internal quality standards before dispatch 13. Implement protocols to reduce spoilage, handling issues, and product returns 14. Maintain accurate records of supplier contracts, purchase orders, and inventory transactions 15. Generate periodic procurement reports and provide actionable insights to senior management for data-driven decision-making
