Job Description

As a Contract Specialist with 6-10 years of post-qualification experience, your primary responsibility will be reviewing, negotiating, and managing contracts in alignment with established playbooks and internal approval procedures. Your role demands a profound comprehension of contract review processes, a sound understanding of commercial law, robust analytical capabilities, and the aptitude to thrive independently in a dynamic work environment. The ideal candidate will possess quick learning abilities, proficiency in CLM tools, and the capability to spearhead process enhancements throughout the contract lifecycle. You will be tasked with independently scrutinizing and assessing various commercial contracts such as NDAs, MSAs, SOWs, vendor agreements, and licensing agreements. Your role will involve applying contract playbooks to ensure standardized and compliant contract reviews and negotiations. It will be imperative for you to identify and raise concerns regarding non-standard terms and risks to the relevant functional units and approvers, following company policies. Collaboration with internal stakeholders like procurement, finance, and business units will be crucial to ensure that contract terms align with business objectives and risk tolerance levels. Efficient management of the contract approval workflow to ensure timely execution and compliance with internal policies will be a key aspect of your role. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of contract reviews, approvals, and negotiations, while also assisting senior management in strategic decision-making initiatives. Your support in enhancing contract templates and playbooks, along with conducting training sessions for CLM tool adoption, will be essential. Additionally, providing legal assistance for various business initiatives and offering guidance to junior team members through training and mentoring will also be part of your responsibilities. To qualify for this role, you should hold an LL.B. or equivalent legal qualification from a recognized university along with 6-10 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in a law firm or in-house legal department with extensive exposure to reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts. Strong expertise in contract law and commercial legal principles, the ability to independently review and negotiate contracts, proficiency in CLM platforms, experience with contract playbooks and approval workflows, excellent communication and negotiation skills, adept stakeholder management abilities, and the capacity to work autonomously while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are some of the essential skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management systems is also a must for this role.,
