Principal Network Engineer - WAN SME

You will be responsible for collaborating with engineering teams to validate network designs and support implementation from Day 0 through handover to operations. As the Principal Network Engineer WAN SME, you will act as a senior escalation point for WAN and multicast network issues, investigating and resolving critical incidents. Engaging with partners and vendors to drive fixes and support seamless migrations will also be a part of your role. Your responsibilities will include working closely with cybersecurity teams to assess and mitigate vulnerabilities and designing, building, and supporting scalable, low-latency WAN architectures with emphasis on MPLS, multicast, and segment routing. You will provide automation leadership by reviewing and improving Ansible and Python-based automation scripts and developing dashboards and monitoring tools for near real-time network visibility. Maintaining system performance, producing documentation, and coordinating with cross-functional teams during upgrades and changes will be crucial. You will also be expected to drive CI/CD pipelines for network-related automation and testing. To be successful in this role, you must have strong hands-on experience with WAN technologies, MPLS, multicast routing protocols, and VRF-based services. Proficiency in various routing protocols and troubleshooting using advanced packet capture and analysis tools is essential. Familiarity with SDN, Cisco ACI, and working in Agile environments with tools like JIRA is also required. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are a must. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related technical field, CCIE certification (preferred or actively in progress), 5+ years of focused experience in WAN network engineering, and a background in financial services or experience working with telecom/network service providers.,
