Principal Engineer - Piping Design

As a Principal Engineer - Piping for Australia Mining Infrastructure Projects at WSP India, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the engineering design of piping, static & rotary equipment in compliance with WSP Engineering and Client Standards. Your role entails collaborating with a motivated and highly successful team in Australia, demonstrating your expertise in an EPCM environment within industries such as O & G, Power plants, Chemical process plants, and Mining processing. Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Demonstrating in-depth knowledge of piping design codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, and ASME B31.8 - Designing and developing piping systems and components while ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards - Reviewing design specifications, managing vendors, and conducting technical evaluations - Developing project standards, technical specifications for piping materials, and preparation of Valve Material Specifications - Coordinating with Australian lead offices, ensuring quality procedures are maintained, and providing regular work status updates - Actively participating in the design process, predicting project timelines accurately, and identifying improvements to enhance client service Key Competencies required for this role include: - Collaboration & Teamwork - Technical Capability & Delivery - Adaptability & Learning Desired Skills: - Australian experience is preferred - 14-18 years of experience in a consulting firm in an EPCM environment within O & G, Power, and Mining processing industries - Experience in engineering design and shop detailing of Chutes, Bins, Hoppers, and conveyor components - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines Qualifications: - 14-18 years of experience in piping, static, rotary equipment engineering - Bachelor's degree with a preferred master's degree in mechanical engineering - PG diploma or certificate in Piping engineering would be an asset - Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills - Familiarity with working in a LEAN environment - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English - C. Eng, P.
