You will be joining the R&D - Powertrain - Cylinder Head D&D department at TVS Motor Company's Hosur Plant in Tamil Nadu, India. As a Design Engineer-Cylinder Head and Block System in the R&D - Powertrain department, specifically the Cylinder Head D&D functional group, your responsibilities will include 3D modeling of complex geometries in a multi-CAD tool environment, surface design, GD&T, 2D drawing preparation detailing complex and critical features, generating design/technical reports, understanding DFX, and being conversant with MBD. You should hold a UG degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering (B.E/Btech) and possess 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. Additional qualifications such as proficiency in advanced CAD tools, 3D modeling, surface modeling, drawing preparation, MBD, and familiarity with upstream tools are desired. The target industry sectors for this role include Automotive, 2/3/4 wheeler manufacturers, consulting firms, and core supplier companies. Your role as a Design Engineer involves understanding inputs, part functions, and Voice of the Customer (VoC) to develop Engineering Requirements (ER) and meet New Product Introduction (NPI) milestones. You should be well-versed in GD&T, DFS, DFA, complex part design, camshaft, valve timing, valve train, lightweighting, structural and thermal aspects of powertrain components, DFMEA, and TRIZ. Functional competencies required include the ability to convert inputs to ER, understand standard operating procedures/systems, familiarity with DFMEA/DFX, MBD processes, document preparation, and knowledge of engineering materials.
