The Ops Accounting Rep 5 performs relatively complex assignments with a direct impact on the business by ensuring the quality of tasks or services provided. Working under little to no direct supervision, you may service an expansive and/or diverse array of products/services. Applying working knowledge of technical and professional principles and concepts, as well as in-depth knowledge of team objectives, you understand how assigned duties contribute to the work of the team/unit. You also comprehend how the units coordinate their efforts and resources to achieve the objectives of the function. Ensuring the quality and service of self and others, you may recommend new options to enhance productivity in accordance with guidelines. Tact and diplomacy are required when exchanging complex or sensitive information with others, being sensitive to audience diversity. Basic knowledge of the organization, the business, and its policies is necessary. You are typically responsible for resolving basic to moderately complex problems based on practice and precedence. You should be able to assess the applicability of similar experiences and evaluate options under circumstances not covered by procedures. Responsibilities: - Performing various accounting functions that are the most complex in nature pertaining to general ledger and proof of account reconciliation, research, and investigation. - Training new hires or new team members within the work unit and providing day-to-day guidance to lower-level employees. - Managing workflow and interacting with other departments. - Making decisions within established guidelines, with latitude to decide appropriate action to resolve issues in areas where prior precedence has been established; making journal entries with little or no supervision; and performing accounting duties in multiple areas. - Communicating with other departments, external customers, and/or clients. - Working under little to no direct supervision to perform job duties. - Appropriately assessing risk when making business decisions, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets. This includes driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency. Qualifications: - Advanced knowledge of the current operating system platform and internal accounting policies.
