Job Description

Job Summary:

The Operations Supervisor will oversee the daily garbage collection and waste disposal activities, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards, and service quality expectations. This role involves supervising field teams, coordinating vehicle routes, and managing the performance of contractors or municipal workers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise day-to-day waste collection and disposal operations across assigned zones or wards.
  • Coordinate the deployment of collection vehicles, drivers, and sanitation workers.
  • Monitor route efficiency and optimize vehicle movement for timely pickups and minimal fuel usage.
  • Ensure proper segregation, safe handling, and disposal of waste as per Solid Waste Management Rules (2016).
  • Conduct field inspections to verify service quality, route adherence, and cleanliness standards.
  • Handle on-ground operational issues, staff complaints, and emergency waste management needs.
  • Maintain daily operational logs, vehicle reports, fuel usage, and manpower attendance.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene protocols.
  • Liaise with municipal authorities, vendors, and residents to address service issues and gather feedback.
  • Support training, performance monitoring, and discipline enforcement among field staff.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Public Health, Logistics, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of experience in waste collection, municipal operations, or facility management.
  • Prior supervisory experience in field operations is preferred.

Skills:

  • Good knowledge of solid waste handling procedures and environmental compliance norms.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Basic technical understanding of collection vehicles, GPS tracking, and route planning.
  • Ability to handle field challenges and lead a diverse team.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, email reporting, and use of mobile workforce apps (if applicable).
  • Effective communication in local language and English (as required).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
