The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of hands-on experience in setting up and operating CNC milling and turning centers, with a strong background in manufacturing high-precision components for the aerospace industry. You will be responsible for producing parts that meet stringent quality requirements and engineering specifications. Key Responsibilities: Set up, operate, and maintain CNC milling machines (3-axis, 4-axis, and/or 5-axis) and CNC turning centers (lathes) to produce complex aerospace components. Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and manufacturing process sheets. Select, install, and align appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and workpieces on CNC machines. Load and unload raw materials and components onto the machines. Retrieve and load CNC programs (G-code, M-code) into machine controllers (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain – specify if known ). Perform first-off inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) where applicable. Monitor machine operations, listen for unusual noises or vibrations, and make necessary adjustments to feeds, speeds, and offsets to ensure parts are machined to specified tolerances and surface finishes. Troubleshoot minor machining issues and report any complex problems or machine malfunctions to the supervisor or maintenance team. Deburr and finish machined parts as required. Maintain accurate production records, including part counts, inspection data, and machine logs. Perform routine preventive maintenance on CNC machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and checking fluid levels. Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, quality standards (e.g., AS9100 or equivalent aerospace standards), and company procedures. Collaborate with production planners, programmers, and quality engineers to optimize machining processes and ensure on-time delivery of high-quality parts. Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S principles). Qualifications and Skills: Education: ITI (Machinist/Turner), Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical certification. Experience: Minimum 2-4 years of proven experience as a CNC Milling and Turning Operator, preferably within the aerospace or a similar high-precision manufacturing environment. Technical Skills: Proficient in setting up and operating multi-axis CNC milling machines and CNC lathes. Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming; ability to perform minor edits at the machine control. Familiarity with common CNC controllers (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain – specify preferred controllers if any ). Expertise in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols. Skilled in using a wide variety of precision measuring instruments. Knowledge of different aerospace materials (e.g., aluminum alloys, titanium, stainless steel, superalloys) and their machinability. Understanding of cutting tool selection, speeds, and feeds for various materials and operations. Basic knowledge of CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX CAM – optional, but a plus ). Key Responsibilities:Create and modify CNC programs for machining wood, metal, and mixed-material components used in furniture such as tables, chairs, sofas, and cabinetry. Interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and design specifications to generate accurate machining instructions. Optimize cutting paths, tooling, feed rates, and speeds to ensure precision, efficiency, and minimal material wastage. Set up and test programs on CNC machines (e.g., VMC, routers, panel saws, edge banders) before handing over to machine operators. Collaborate with the design team to ensure manufacturability of prototypes and new designs. Maintain an organized database of CNC programs, revisions, and setup sheets. Troubleshoot issues during trials and production runs, making real-time adjustments when necessary. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and production standards. Requirements:3+ years of experience as a CNC Programmer, preferably in the furniture or woodworking industry. Hands-on knowledge of CNC machinery used in furniture production (e.g., Biesse, Homag, Felder, etc.). Proficiency in G-code and CAM software (e.g., AlphaCAM, Fusion 360, Mastercam, or similar). Strong understanding of wood types, joinery techniques, furniture construction methods, and tooling. Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and 3D models (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.). ITI/Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Production, or Wood Technology preferred. Preferred Skills:Familiarity with nesting software for panel optimization. Experience with automated production lines and CNC routers. Basic knowledge of ERP systems and production documentation. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
