An Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for ensuring the performance, security, availability, and reliability of Oracle databases. The role blends technical expertise with operational efficiency to support business-critical applications. Duties and Responsibilities :- Understanding the requirement from each Customers and implement the solution as per service offering description and technical specification. Database Performance & Optimization: Advanced knowledge of Oracle Database Architecture Perform advanced SQL tuning, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization. Use AWR, ASH, SQL Profiles, and SQL Baselines to troubleshoot performance issues. Optimize memory, CPU, and storage configurations for Exadata, Oracle RAC, and Cloud environments. OS Basic (Linux RedHat/Oracle), Storage Basic concepts, Networking Basic concepts High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Maintain Data Guard, Oracle RAC and RMAN-based backup/recovery strategies. Ensure zero-data-loss disaster recovery using Flashback Technology, Snapshot Standby. Conduct disaster recovery (DR) drills and failover testing for compliance. Automation & DevOps Integration: Develop and manage DB automation scripts (Shell, Ansible, Python) for operational tasks. Use OEM Cloud Control for database monitoring & alerting. Leadership, Documentation & Stakeholder Management: Mentor colleagues within the squad and provide technical leadership for database arena. Maintain runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base for database operations. Collaborate with infrastructure Squad for seamless database integration. Act as a trusted advisor for customer, providing structured communication on technical requirements and queries. Database Backup and Recovery: Oracle RMAN Backup & Recovery (Full, Incremental, PITR, Archived Redo Logs. Information Security Responsibilities: All employees are expected to adhere to the Information Security policies day in and day out. • Report any ISMS events / incidents as per the reporting procedures. • Shall be aware of all ISMS principles and guidelines Follow all the ITIL practices applicable for the various processes involved. Qualification, Experience and Skills Qualification : Any bachelors degree Experience : 10+ years relevant experience Skills : Oracle Database administration Knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL Shell scripting, Ansible, Performance Tuning High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for Oracle Database Certification : OCP,OCI Certifications Key Competencies Cloud Platforms: OCI, AWS RDS for Oracle, ExaCS Scripting Language: SQL, Shell Scripting, Ansible Monitoring Tool : Oracle Enterprise Manager Databases: Oracle 19c Database Features : Active Dataguard, Real Application Cluster (RAC) , Automatic Storage Management (ASM) Security: TDE, Database Auditing Request/Incident Tracking : Service Now, Jira
