Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented

Manager Sr. Manager Purchase

to lead and oversee the procurement function for plastic components and raw materials, specifically within the

automotive industry

. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in

plastics procurement

, vendor development, cost negotiation, and a strong network within the plastics and polymer supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement & Sourcing:

  • Lead end-to-end procurement of

    plastic raw materials, resins, polymers, and molded components

    .
  • Develop and execute effective sourcing strategies aligned with company goals and cost objectives.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on price, quality, reliability, and delivery.
  • Ensure timely procurement and inventory optimization while avoiding stockouts and overstocking.

Vendor Management:

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key domestic and international suppliers.
  • Negotiate long-term contracts, pricing agreements, and credit terms to maximize value.
  • Monitor supplier performance and conduct periodic evaluations to ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.

Cost Optimization:

  • Continuously identify cost-saving opportunities through alternate sourcing, improved logistics, or supplier consolidation.
  • Conduct detailed cost analysis and benchmarking to support negotiations.

Quality & Compliance:

  • Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure procurement meets company and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO/TS standards and maintain relevant documentation for audits.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Production, Design, Quality, and R&D teams to understand material requirements and specifications.
  • Support NPD (New Product Development) projects with timely sourcing and supplier alignment.

Team Leadership & Reporting:

  • Lead a team of buyers/purchase executives, ensuring team development and performance.
  • Report key procurement KPIs and analytics to senior management on a monthly/quarterly basis.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Deep domain knowledge of

    plastics, polymers, injection molding components

    , and suppliers.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP Oracle similar).
  • Knowledge of global sourcing, customs, and import/export procedures is a plus.
  • High integrity and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Graduate in Engineering Science

    (preferably in Polymer, Chemical, or Mechanical streams).
  • MBA PG Diploma

    in Supply Chain or Materials Management will be preferred.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

  • 10-15 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably in the

    automotive plastics industry

    .
  • Proven track record of cost control, vendor development, and strategic sourcing.
This is a position with critical responsibilities in the procurement of technical plastic components. Candidates from Tier 1 or Tier 2 automotive vendors are encouraged to apply.
