Job Description

Test Support Activities

15 Different MF environments are there each has its specific parameters
The staff has to make JCLs ready for each region when a new application ( set of 30-40programs) is ready to be tested.
JCL changes, DB2 changes need to be done
Test Data has to be unloaded from Production /Loaded ( masked ) in test region. So they should know how to Unload/ Load table data
Mainly then run the Batche program to Test after the environment , data is setup. Some of the Batches are manually run and some have to be run from a Scheduler

L1 Support

If something fails in the batch runs , they will coordinate with DB2 team , Application teams. They are not fixing things

Release Management – Little bit of it

Key competencies : COBOL, JCL ( MODIFY/ CUSTOMIZE), DB2/SQL, DB2 LOAD/UNLOAD UTILITIES RUN FROM JCL, BATCH (JES,SDSF) understanding. CICS Basic Understanding, Scheduler aware.
