As a User Experience Researcher (UXR) at Google, you will play a crucial role in understanding user needs and behaviors to create useful, usable, and delightful products. Your responsibilities will include conducting independent research using various methods such as field studies, interviews, diary studies, participatory workshops, ethnography, surveys, usability testing, and logs analysis. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams of UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers to gather insights about user needs, attitudes, emotions, and behaviors. By working closely with stakeholders at all levels and functions, you will have a significant impact on all stages of product development. To excel in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 4 years of experience in an applied research setting. Experience with research design using methods like usability studies, contextual inquiry, surveys, and product research is essential. Preferred qualifications include a Master's or PhD degree in fields like Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, or Psychology. You will be expected to communicate research findings effectively with cross-functional partners to drive impact and help prioritize research opportunities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. Your contributions as a UXR will be instrumental in shaping industry-leading products that deliver value to users and Google's businesses.
