Lead Full-Stack Developer Construction AI Projects

The company Zenera Limited is seeking a Lead Full Stack Developer to join their team and take full technical ownership of the BuildTrack POC, an AI-powered platform designed to streamline construction progress tracking for UK construction SMEs. As a part of a lean team, you will be responsible for defining and implementing the end-to-end architecture for the platform, converting business requirements into scalable features, and choosing the appropriate tech stack for construction field use. Your role will involve building core modules such as photo-based progress tracking, dashboard development, data upload/processing, and collaborating with the Business Analyst to shape realistic product milestones. You will also be the primary point of contact for all technical matters, including code reviews, deployment, and guiding junior developers or freelancers. The ideal candidate should have at least 5-8 years of full-stack development experience, with a preference for experience in a startup or early-stage product environment. Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP), REST APIs, microservices, CI/CD, and database design is required. Exposure to construction workflows or platforms such as Procore, Autodesk BIM 360, or similar tools is a plus. Bonus skills include knowledge of photogrammetry, BIM integration, or site documentation tools, experience in mobile-first UX design, offline-friendly architecture, and past involvement in AI or ML-driven platforms. The candidate should possess a startup mindset, demonstrating practical problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
