Lead Developer

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Lead with strong expertise in PL/SQL and a solid background in database migrations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in leading database migration projects, resolving complex technical issues, and providing guidance to the development team. This individual will work closely with architects and cross-functional teams to ensure that technical solutions are aligned with project requirements and ensure seamless integration with applications and analytics platforms. A basic understanding of Python is required to troubleshoot and debug issues at the PL/SQL code level. Experience working with SingleStore (formerly known as MemSQL) will be considered an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

: Technical Leadership: Serve as the primary escalation point for resolving complex technical issues related to Oracle databases, ensuring issues are addressed efficiently and effectively. Database Migrations: Lead and manage Oracle database migration efforts, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal downtime. Collaboration: Work with architects and stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure database solutions align with technical and business objectives. Database Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, application, and analytics teams) to ensure seamless integration between Oracle databases and other enterprise applications or platforms. Code Troubleshooting and Debugging: Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex PL/SQL code issues, providing guidance and solutions to the team. Guidance and Mentorship: Provide ongoing technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, helping them grow their skills in database development and troubleshooting. Process Improvement: Continuously identify areas for process improvement within database development and migration workflows to increase efficiency and reduce errors. SingleStore Experience (Preferred): If the candidate has experience working with SingleStore, they will be able to bring additional expertise in integrating and optimizing hybrid database architectures, a key advantage for modern, high-performance data solutions.

Skills and Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of hands-on experience with Oracle databases and PL/SQL development. PL/SQL Expertise: Strong knowledge of PL/SQL programming, with a proven ability to write, debug, and optimize complex queries, procedures, and functions. Database Migrations: Experience in database migration planning, execution, and troubleshooting, particularly with Oracle databases. Python Knowledge: Basic understanding of Python to assist in debugging PL/SQL-related issues. Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to debug issues at the database and code level. Collaboration: Strong team player with experience collaborating across technical and non-technical teams. Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and act as a point of escalation for complex technical issues. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. SingleStore Knowledge (Added Advantage): Familiarity with SingleStore database, including integration with Oracle databases and the ability to work in a hybrid database environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Oracle certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) are a plus. Experience with database performance tuning and optimization. Familiarity with cloud-based Oracle solutions (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure). Experience in Agile or other collaborative project management methodologies. Experience with SingleStore (MemSQL) database solutions and integration.
