LEAD DATA SCIENTIST

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of data scientists, machine learning engineers and big data specialists
• Lead data mining procedures ensuring data quality and integrity.
• Interpret and analyse data problems and suggest workable solutions.
• Conceive, plan, and prioritize multiple analytical projects at a time.
• Build analytic systems and predictive models as required for the business needs.
• Monitor the model performance periodically and suggest appropriate actionable when the performance declines
• Experiment with new models and techniques and suggest appropriate techniques for each requirement.
• Run sample models as DOE/ AB testing / Champion x Challenger to test and identify business opportunity under controlled environment
• Align data projects with organizational goals ensuring integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of data used in building of models.
• Work closely with business analysts, data engineers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Provide support and training to end-users on automated reporting tools and processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Education:

  Bachelor s degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.

• Experience:

  • Experience in handling a team of 3 data scientists or above.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R for data interpretation and segmentation.
  • Experience with SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Good experience in building analytical models and scorecards in lending industry.

• Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of NBFC business, knowledge of database and data massaging methodologies.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is an advantage.
• Knowledge of scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) is beneficial.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with complex datasets.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience with advanced analytics or machine learning techniques.
• Familiarity with Agile or other project management methodologies.
• Experience in a similar industry or domain.
