As a Software Engineer at Versa Networks, India, located in Bengaluru/Chennai, you will play a crucial role as an L2/L3 QA Engineer within the QA team collaborating with the engineering group. Your main focus will be on testing the latest Networking products and technologies, particularly QA of switching products. It is essential to have a deep understanding of Networking and L2/L3 technologies. Your expertise in software development methodologies and tools will be highly valuable in this role. The ideal candidate for this position should hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field of study. Additionally, having 5+ years of hands-on experience in tech/communication companies is required to excel in this role. Key responsibilities will include working closely with engineering teams to test new features, writing and maintaining test cases and test plans, assisting in reproducing issues identified during testing phases, logging bugs, and collaborating with the development team to resolve issues effectively. You will also be involved in planning and executing performance, scalability, regression, and feature testing to enhance product quality and performance continuously. To succeed in this role, you must possess strong skills in software engineering and SQA methodologies, along with prior experience in testing and debugging Switching/Routing/L2-L3 services. A solid understanding of the TCP/IP protocol suite is essential. You should be capable of investigating issues, isolating their probable causes, and providing reliable methods for reproducing them. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for documenting test plans, results, and translating test outcomes into actionable recommendations. Furthermore, hands-on experience with traffic generator tools like IxLoad, Spirent TestCenter, etc., would be considered a significant advantage. The ideal candidate for this role should be a team player with a can-do attitude, capable of working independently or collaboratively, possessing excellent communication skills to engage with cross-functional groups, and dedicated to enhancing product quality through technical feedback.,
