Key Skills:

Roles and Responsibilities:

Source and procure imported fruits and vegetables from various importers/exporters at competitive rates
Build and maintain strong relationships with a network of importers and suppliers to ensure preferred partner status and reliable supply
Negotiate contracts (Program Buying for high Volume Articles), pricing, and terms to ensure cost-efficiency while maintaining quality standards. Long-term sourcing plan to be done
Monitor market trends, adjust sourcing strategies, and ensure compliance with food safety regulations
Manage daily and weekly purchase and sales targets for the imported produce category
Oversee a team responsible for quality checks, logistics, and inventory management
Own the P&L of Imported fruits and vegetables trade volumes, ensuring profitability and growth
Collaborate with Demand Planning, Category, Warehouse Operations, and Quality Control to streamline operations and maximize efficiency
Conduct regular supplier assessments and audits to maintain quality and compliance

Experience Requirement:

6-15 years of experience in sourcing and procurement of imported fruits and vegetables, preferably within retail, FMCG, or agri-trade sectors
Proven track record in contract negotiation, strategic sourcing, and P&L ownership
Experience working with global suppliers, understanding import regulations and quality standards
Strong analytical skills with experience in demand planning and cross-functional collaboration
