Job Summary:

General Manager – Technical

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead R&D initiatives for development of new products, shades, and formulations (solvent-based, water-based, emulsion paints, etc.)
  
• Optimize existing formulations to reduce cost without compromising quality.
  
• Oversee raw material evaluation, testing, and vendor development.
  
• Guide plant technical team in scaling up lab batches to full production.
  
• Lead quality control and assurance activities; ensure compliance with BIS, ISO, ROHS, REACH, and environmental standards.
  
• Provide technical support to sales, marketing, and customer service teams.
  
• Investigate customer complaints and lead root-cause analysis and corrective action.
  
• Monitor and upgrade manufacturing processes for productivity and energy efficiency.
  
• Liaison with regulatory bodies and external labs for product certifications.
  
• Manage and mentor a team of chemists, R&D executives, and QA personnel.
  

Key Skills & Requirements:

• B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc. in

  Chemistry, Paint Technology, or Chemical Engineering

  .
• Minimum

  15 years of experience

  in paint/coating industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of

  resins, pigments, solvents, additives, and paint application techniques

  .
• Experience in handling

  decorative, industrial, or protective coatings

  .
• Proven record of

  cost optimization

  and

  technical problem-solving

  .
• Ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive high performance.
  
• Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.
