Gen AI SMTS2 Platform Engineer

You are a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS2) Platform Engineer with a focus on Generative AI and scalable platform architecture. You will be responsible for designing and developing scalable, modular middle-tier software solutions, integrating Gen AI capabilities, and driving innovation in next-gen software solutions. Your key responsibilities will include taking ownership of architecture, development, and deployment activities across platform services, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery, translating complex business requirements into technical solutions, exploring and recommending emerging technologies in the Gen AI and platform engineering space, contributing to improving development practices and design patterns, and mentoring junior developers to foster a culture of knowledge sharing. To excel in this role, you should have 7+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on backend/platform engineering. Proficiency in Python programming including algorithms, data structures, and design patterns is essential. Hands-on experience with Microservices, RESTful APIs, and event-driven architecture is required, along with working knowledge of AWS cloud services, Docker, and Kubernetes. Familiarity with Gen AI tools like GitHub Copilot or Cursor is preferred. You should also demonstrate the ability to quickly research and prototype emerging technologies. Additionally, having an understanding of Prompt Engineering, LLMs, and vector embeddings, experience with ML libraries such as PyTorch and HuggingFace, and exposure to AI/ML pipelines or cloud-native ML platforms would be advantageous. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, possess a solid grasp of enterprise software architecture and SDLC, exhibit strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, and have excellent communication and teamwork abilities.,
