Responsibilities:-

Inspecting the items or goods to be fumigated:
Fumigation technicians must inspect the items or goods to be fumigated to identify the type of pest and the extent of the infestation.
Preparing the area for fumigation:
Fumigation technicians must prepare the area for fumigation by removing food, water, and other items that could be contaminated by the fumigant. They must also seal the area to prevent pests from escaping.
Applying the fumigant:
Fumigation technicians must apply the fumigant according to the standards. This may involve using a variety of methods, such as methyl bromide(MBR) and aluminum phosphide(ALP).
- Conduct of Fumigation of Cargo Containers and Stacks under Gas-proof Sheets/Covers with Methyl Bromide
- Conduct of Fumigation of Stacks under Gas-proof Sheets/Covers with Phosphine
Monitoring the fumigation process:
Fumigation technicians must monitor the fumigation process to ensure that it is effective. This may involve checking the temperature and humidity levels in the fumigated area.
Re-entering the fumigated area:
Fumigation technicians must reenter the fumigated area after the fumigant has dissipated to remove any dead pests and debris.
